Girls Group

Dear Parents,

Our 'Essence of Me' group, designed specifically for African American and Hispanic girls in 2nd - 5th grade, will be starting in January 2017.  This group will meet after school twice a month on Fridays from 3:15 to 4:15.  This program will focus on a multitude of concepts.  The principal idea is to influence our girls of color to have high self-esteem and self-confidence that can be seen in the classroom and beyond.  Another focus of this group is to strengthen ones' own self-development as well as build a support system of strong relationships with one another.  Our group will build relationships through various activities including reading and writing in a way that will allow the girls to have success in their academic abilities.  If you would like your child to participate in this group, please click here to view and print out the permission slip, see below for meeting dates for the school year.  Space is limited to 20-25 students and will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis.  Please return the permission slip sheet by Friday, October 10th.  An additional note will be sent home to notify you of your child's participation and of the scheduled dates for the year.

 Thank you,

Ms. Johnson (2nd Grade) (720) 886-8627
